  Well today started off with a streetcar ride to the Central Library to pick up Mad City Chickens, a documentary of Madision, Wisconsin chickens.  Ellen, Nicole and I were going to have a screening, maybe dinner and invite George, but we've decided just to watch it at PSU.

On Friday I just did more data entry.  The good thing is, that the end is in sight!  I am confident that I will finish by early next week.

This morning I realized I didn't have a cubicle.

First day

Sunday, my mind kept tossing back and forth the question, "Should I bring my laptop?"  On one hand, what if I needed it to work?  On the other, what if I didn't and a laptop is heavy... I finally decided not to.  They would have stuff for me to do without the Catlin pre-requisite of a laptop, right?

Chickens, Cover Crop and Cob

All the Portland school children know about it, and some of the grown ups, but so far Zenger farm is an unintentionally well-kept secret. Down Foster Road next to Brookside Park, you can find a red farmhouse with a solar paneled roof, and a sign over the driveway, high enough for a school bus to travel under.  A sign near the cob structure (made with straw, clay and sand) with bicycle wheels sticking out of it, gives an overview of the history for visitors and school trippers.  There, we met with Jill Kuehler, the executive director and she gave us a tour of the place.
