project presentation

posted in

This is my senior project presentation document. I'm looking forward to the presentation tomorrow. I've talked about my presentation with Robert, but just in case I'm going over it with him again in the morning. Hopefully all will go well...

I talked to Robert again and am uploading a new version of my presentation 'cause I had forgotten to add something and needed a new slide or two.

Last day

posted in

I spent the majority of today creating my powerpoint for the presentation on Thursday and so that I can rehearse it with Robert. I took a few pictures of Ziba and the people who I worked with/around there, and also got pictures from Heather of the event when Aura got the Shrinky Dinks charm bracelet. I think that the presentation will go well and I'm looking forward to the rest of this year and graduation. So long senior projects.

Last day at Ziba

posted in

It was my last day at Ziba. I helped out with some images searches for a conference at which Ziba will be doing a presentation. My mentor took me out for lunch to the Lovejoy Bakery. Their food is delicious, and it was nice to spend time with my mentor just chatting over lunch. The screw in my glasses decided to fall out, but luckily one of the guys in the shop found a screw driver which was small enough to replace the screw in my glasses. I also helped to create a powerpoint for another project which Julia was working on for the brand team.

A day of sorting

posted in

Today I have attended one meeting with Chelsea, my mentor, and I will attend a brand meeting with her this afternoon. It's been a nice day so far, I helped an intern working in marketing with an organization project in their portfolio room. It was interesting to work on organizing the papers in there and seeing snippets of many old projects that Ziba has been involved in. Because I could only get 10 days here (which is why I've been working for Robert some), this is one of my last days here at Ziba. I'm gonna miss this place with all its wacky people.  :)

the endless image search

Today I have attended one meeting with Chelsea. Other than that I have been doing an image search for a project that they are working on. It is interesting, but it is definitely a long image search because the categories are quite broad. But still, it's interesting and as someone who has pretty much never gone to flickr.com, its been kind of cool to spend almost an entire day looking at flickr.

The makeup room

posted in

Today I have been working on cleaning up the makeup room for Robert so that the 8th graders can finally have access to it. I helped move all of the masks that the Applied Theater Concepts class is working on from the makeup room to Robert's office. I then swept up the room and had to scrape dried plaster off of the counters. the part that I'm not looking forward to is later when I'll need to attempt to get everything back into the makeup closet. I'm not sure everything actually fits in there., although Robert says it does.

Photo Shoot

posted in

On Thursday I went with three people - Nikki, Heather, and Ingrid - to a photo shoot for a product they're working with. It wasn't a big deal, but it was fun and interesting. This past week I've been reporting to Nikki and Julia for a lot more tasks because they have needed me to do more than my mentor has. Nikki and Julia are involved with the Brand Team which deals with anything involving the Ziba brand, such as updating their website and anything the company is involved in that isn't for a client.

Zoo Day!!

Today, rather than be on our regular senior projects, we took our 1st grade buddies to the zoo. It was nice and sunny (while we were at the zoo at least) and I was very thankful for that. Rylan is a 1st grade buddy that Andy and I share and he's adorable. We followed him around the zoo for 1 hour and 10 minutes until he realized that he'd seen everything that was open at that time. They didn't open the "great northwest" section until we were leaving, which was a disappointment for him. He also hadn't wanted to see the cheetah, which was a disappointment for me.

wireless mics...oh dear god...

posted in

So on Monday I was not at my regular senior project. I was working for Robert in the theater. Now, they need to order new wireless mics. So that requires looking up the different packages of mics and receivers online and comparing prices and features and what comes with what different packages. So who is making this spread sheet of information? Me. Now, I don't mind doing it 'cause I know how busy Robert is. Except that until Monday I knew pretty much nothing about wireless mics.

Never on time

posted in

I'm working at not showing up a minute early or precisely on time to meetings that I sit in on for my senior project. At Ziba, the meetings often start just a little late. At one I showed up a minute early and another meeting was going on in the same room, and I was told I was in the wrong place. Then someone said that the meeting I showed up for was in there next, so I was actually in the right place.
