Sara Nordhoff, Director of Admission and Financial Aid and Summer Programs
Sara is excited to be at Catlin Gabel as the director of admission and financial aid. Her professional background is in higher education admissions at Mount Holyoke, Bennington, and Dartmouth Colleges, where she’s read many wonderful applications from Catlin Gabel seniors. Sara’s undergraduate degree is from Middlebury College, and she has a master’s degree in communications from Boston University. Most weekends you’ll find Sara outside playing with her husband Andy, 1st grader Riley Dan, baby boy William, and their pup, Brew.

Mary Braun, Associate Director of Admission
Mary's background includes admission work at Mounds Park Academy, a PK-12 independent school, and a number of enrollment management roles in higher ed. at St. Catherine University and Metropolitan State University in St. Paul, Minnesota, and at Victoria University in Wellington, New Zealand. She earned her undergrad. degree at the University of St. Thomas and her master’s degree from St. Catherine University. She and her husband Greg live in SE Portland and love to spend time outdoors running, biking, hiking, and camping.

Lisa Unsworth, Assistant Director of Admission
Lisa enters her third year with the admission team working with Middle School tours and visits and off-campus community events. She has a background in education from Drury University and Gonzaga, and a physical education degree from the University of Calgary in Canada. Previously, Lisa worked in college athletics and admission. Lisa avidly supports Catlin Gabel performances, competitions, productions, athletic events, outdoor activities, and community events.

Mary Yacob, Admission & Financial Aid Coordinator Mary coordinates the financial aid process and assists with admission and financial aid events. She has been with Catlin Gabel in various roles over the last 10 years as a parent and employee and also worked in the business office and the Upper School office. Mary graduated from Pepperdine University with a B.S. in Business Administration and has worked in market research and financial research in Los Angeles and Washington, D.C. A Portland native, she lives with her two kids, Patrick and Samantha.

Marabeth Passannante, Data Coordinator Marabeth joins the Catlin Gabel admission team after 7 years as Audience Services Manager at Oregon Ballet Theatre. Prior to that, she was at the Oregon Symphony for 8 years and has also enjoyed working in the box offices at Portland Opera, Portland Center Stage, the Oregon Convention Center & the Rose Quarter. Marabeth has a degree in Sociology from Portland State University. When not at work, you can often find her at the theatre, traveling, attending music festivals, reading, making things, baking things or trying something new. Originally from New Jersey, Marabeth now calls Portland her home town.

Chris Woodard, Receptionist Chris has worked in various departments throughout Catlin Gabel for over 20 years.  An Oregon native, Chris has an undergraduate degree in English from the University of Oregon. Before Catlin Gabel, Chris worked at the Multnomah County Library, OMSI, and trained as a court reporter. Her two children, Sarah '02 and Sam '06, are Catlin Gabel "lifers." Chris spends her time after hours walking, reading, and hanging out with her husband Rick and their two golden retrievers, Jake and Sophie.

 Donna Kelly, Receptionist Donna has worked at Catlin Gabel for 13 years as the receptionist. She enjoys her job welcoming and directing parents, students and visitors to campus. Donna has worked as a county arbitrator in Seattle and Portland and before coming to Catlin Gabel, she researched, developed and presented a Watershed program to students in rural Oregon for D.E.Q. She is involved in community events and organized the volunteers for Soulful Strutters, the first African American Women’s Hood to Coast Relay teams. Donna has a B.S. from Portland State University. She enjoys spending time with her three sons, daughter in-laws and two grandchildren, Tobias and Sydney. She loves traveling the world and plans to travel next in the U.S.
